Branch Sales Associate I (6708) – Reading

Basic Function:

In many cases, a Branch Sales Associate is an M&T customer’s first point of contact when they visit one of our branches.  A customer’s level of satisfaction with the bank is largely based on the quality of service they receive in our branches – from Branch Service Associates and others.  That makes the position of BSA one of the most important jobs in the bank, and a great place to begin a career at M&T – one of the strongest, most highly regarded banks in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales
Provide M&T Bank’s retail/commercial customers with superior service by doing the following:
Greet customers, build a rapport with them and thank them for their business.  Assist customers with their bank accounts by answering customer questions and/or providing other necessary information.  Help customers find solutions to their financial needs by seeking to understand those needs, identifying M&T products and services that can meet them, and referring the customer to the appropriate person in the branch.  Process customers’ bank account transactions accurately and efficiently, including: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing.  Take responsibility for resolving customer problems and concerns to the customer’s satisfaction.  Proactively promote ways to make the customer’s banking activities at M&T easier and more convenient for them. 

Bank Operations
Ensure compliance with operational, security and audit procedures, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets and the bank.

General
Support branch in achieving its sales and customer retention goals.

Basic Qualifications:

-Minimum of 1 year in sales or customer service.
-High school diploma or GED.
-Basic keyboarding skills and data entry skills.
-Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
-Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without additional sponsorship.

Ideal Qualifications:

-6 months previous cashiering experience.
-Ability to lift (5lbs to 30lbs).
-Ability to stand for long periods of time using hands and fingers.
-Proficient written communication skills in Spanish and English.
-Proficient verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
-Proficient reading skills in Spanish and English.
-Previous banking or financial services experience.
